One of the only working Angora goat farms in the Western Cape, SPINLEA FARM is nestled alongside the winding Riviersondered river, 20 km outside of Greyton. (26km from Caledon).
Guests have full access to walk around the 475 hA farm, swim in the dam or mountain bike or trail run. They are also permitted to walk through the flower lands, and picking is by arrangement.
During winter/ spring kidding season, guests can look after a hansie baby goat and help with bottle feeding.
The Goat Shed Studio & Cottage consists of 1 bedroom with additonal futon beds for 2 singles. An additional mattress on the floor can be arranged.
-Cottage is fully off the grid with solar power and gas geyser, gas stove/oven.
-Wood burning slow combustion fireplace
- uncovered dam in front of cottage where our ducks reside - they are like our bush tv!
- our 6 horses are in the fields nearby and our goats roam in various groups around the farm.
- Happy Hooves is an independent Horse riding school located on the farm and guests can get in touch with Pier directly to arrange a lesson over the weekend if she has availability. Please contact us for Pier's details.
The studio space can be booked for small functions or as creative retreats and caterers can be recommended to cater for the occasion. Custom events can be arranged- flower picking/ dried flower crown workshops ,etc.
We invite guests to visit the animals and spend time in the quiet and open space to find peace and fresh air.

Nestled in the heart of scenic countryside, Spinlea Farm Campsite is the ideal retreat for those seeking peace, nature, and a touch of adventure. Our Spinlea Farm campsite offers a rural simplicity, perfect for families, friends, couples, and solo travelers looking to reconnect with the great outdoors.
Wake up to expansive views, fresh air, and the gentle sounds of nature. Our campsite is surrounded by the ever changing seasonal landscape - which varies from wheat, oats lands, canola or barley and is surrounded by the pastures where our angora goats roam. Camping guests are permitted to cycle around the farm, through the wheat lands and up onto the koppies for expansive views of the Langkloof.
What we offer:
- Bathrooms - Our bathrooms are beautiful! Created in the same rustic country style as our cottage, and contain 2 showers and 2 toilets each. Separate for men and women, and steaming hot water from gas geysers.

- Scullery area: 2 x kitchen sinks for washing up with hot water (gas geyser).

-The campsite area contains a swimming catchment dam, where guests are invited to bring floaties or boards for swimming.

- 6 Shaded sites where shade netting is set up and attached to poles. Our trees are still growing!
- 1 Country Wooden Cabin (currently, more in construction): containing, 1 x king bed (or singles). Includes linen and towels for 2 people. Additional mattresses and bedding on request for additional fee. 1x Gas cylinder with gas plate; enamel plats and mugs, cutlery, basic camping cooking pots and stove top kettle.

- Authentic Farm Experience: Embrace the farm lifestyle! From time to time, depending on the season, Farmer Neil will offer bakkie rides, and baby goat feeding, or adult feeding. This will be at a small additional fee. Say hello to our friendly animals, learn about sustainable farming practices, or simply enjoy the quiet beauty of our working farm.

- Horse -Riding: We have an independent Horse riding school located on the farm, which borders the campsite. Please get in touch with us to contact Pier directly, to check her availability for lessons or pony care lessons. (If you are wanting to book lessons, please confirm with her first before making your camping booking, as we cannot guarantee there is always availability for riding).
Spacious - Currently 8 camping spots (but there is room for many more should you wish to book the entire site for the weekend). We like our campers to feel spacious and not on top of one another). You'll have plenty of space to unwind, whether you're setting up a tent, camper, or caravan.

- Eco-Friendly Facilities - We want to minimize our carbon footprint while keeping our guests comfortable.
We are proudly a Green Camping Site. This means we recycle.
We provide a:
- Recycling bin (for paper, recyclable plastic, tin, glass)
- Composting bin (for newspaper, veggies scraps, fruit scraps etc)
- Bokashi bin (for meat bones, cooked meat, etc)
- Rubbish bin (for anything else not included above, includiing dirty nappies, etc)
-Eco brick: For cling wrap, foil, non recyclable plastic)

- Walking & Cycling Trails are being signposted and mapped. Discover the landscape through our farm and our neighbours' fields, and gentle hills. Enjoy birdwatching, spotting local wildlife, and taking in the natural scenery.

Nearby Attractions: Spinlea Farm is 20km from the quaint town of Greyton, with many restaurants and coffee houses, OK minimart. 25km from Caledon where you can find a PicknPay, Spar and The Caledon Hot Springs. Whether you're interested in hiking, local markets, or cultural landmarks, there's something for everyone nearby.

RATES:
R400 per site for 4 people. 2 nights minimum. (additional charge for more than 4 people per site)
Glamping Country Cabin: R1000 per night (2 people). 2 nights minimum. Includes King sized bed (or 2 singles); bed linen, towels, cutlery, 1 plate gas stove top; braai, pots, plates, mugs, coffee plunger. NB. no fridge as off grid. Bring your cooler box with ice. Outside chairs and a table. Use of the beautiful camping bathrooms and scullery area.

Off Grid currently. No electrical points.
